The Lugogo Indoor Arena reverberated with jubilant cheers as UCU Canons secured a hard-fought 62-61 victory against Namuwongo Blazers in a thrilling National Basketball League encounter.

Ivan Muhwezi's floaty jumpshot from beyond the arc concluded the first quarter, leaving Namuwongo Blazers trailing by three points (16-13). The Blazers responded, opening a two-point (31-29) lead going into the halftime break.

Coming out of the locker rooms, Canons regained a two-point (42-40) lead at the end of the third quarter, with the Blazers contesting several calls.

The final minutes of the game were breathtaking as Marvin Jesse Okurut hit a three-pointer in the dying moments, securing a one-point victory for the Canons. The only Canon to reach double digits was Ibanda Lwabaga, who dropped 14 points.

Micheal Makiadi (14 points) and Tonny Drileba (12 points) reached double digits for the Blazers. This nail-biting game was a testament to the fierce competition in the National Basketball League.
