The Uganda Premier League is set to undergo some significant changes ahead of the 2025/26 season, with several teams announcing new home grounds. According to the fixtures released for the first round, SC Villa will be trading in Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku for the Villa-Kadiba Stadium in Mengo.
Another team making a change is Mbarara City, which has struggled to meet the licensing standards required to host games at their beloved Kakyeka Stadium. Instead of using Bombo or Kavumba as they have in the past, Mbarara City will now be calling Rwamjanja Stadium in Kamwenge home. The Rwamjanja Stadium, located in Nkoma Cell, Katalyeba, was built with funding from the World Bank as part of the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure programme (USMID).
Police FC is also getting a new home, moving from Kavumba to the Kiira Road Police Arena in Kamwokya. Meanwhile, newcomers to the league, including Calvary FC, Entebbe UPCC, and Buhimba Saints FC, have been granted temporary permission to host their games at Midigo Primary School Playground, Bugonga Fisheries Ground, and Royal Park in Butema, Hoima, respectively.
The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on September 26, 2025, bringing with it a fresh wave of excitement and competition among the participating teams.
