URA FC's quest for a first win in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season remained elusive, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Lugazi FC in their matchday four encounter on Wednesday. This result marked the fourth consecutive game without a victory for the Tax Collectors, who have been struggling to find their footing in the league.
The match, which took place at the Lugazi FC ground, was characterized by limited scoring opportunities, with neither team able to breakthrough and secure all three points. URA FC's captain, Moses Aliro, came close to scoring in the 39th minute, but his powerful strike hit the upright, denying him a goal.
Three minutes later, Nelson Ssenkatuka had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock, but his header was cleared off the line by Lugazi's defender, Richard Ayiko. The visiting team's chances were few and far between, but they managed to create a few scoring opportunities, which were ultimately thwarted by the home team's defense.
Lugazi FC, on the other hand, had their best chances in the first half, with David Bagoole and Amos Etoju both coming close to scoring. Bagoole's strike from outside the area glanced off the crossbar, while Etoju's effort hit the post, but neither team was able to capitalize on these opportunities.
The result has left URA FC in seventh place on four points, while Lugazi FC has moved up to third place on five points. URA FC will look to bounce back from this draw when they host UPDF FC at home next week, while Lugazi FC will embark on a long journey to Hoima to face Kitara FC.
