Highly talented left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly has finalized a new contract with Arsenal, as confirmed by the club. The 18-year-old British defender, whose current agreement runs until 2026, engaged in negotiations with the Gunners over the past few months.
Throughout the previous season, Lewis-Skelly showcased his potential with 39 appearances across various competitions, making his debut against Manchester City in September. Although he emerged as a midfielder from Arsenal's youth academy, he primarily operated as a left-back last season. His impressive performances did not go unnoticed, leading to a call-up to the senior England squad in March.
During his time with the national team, Lewis-Skelly set a record as the youngest player to score on his England debut, netting a goal in a 2-0 victory over Albania at Wembley. His remarkable displays on the field earned him a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, alongside other talented players like Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Ethan Nwaneri.
By committing his future to Arsenal, Lewis-Skelly is poised to continue his development under the guidance of the club. His dedication and skill have not only secured his place in the team but have also garnered recognition at both national and international levels.
