Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly declined a chance to reunite with his idol Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr, despite being advised to seek a new club this summer. The Manchester United winger, who was left out of the team's pre-season tour of America, is prioritizing a move within Europe.
According to The Telegraph, Garnacho, 21, was offered a lucrative opportunity to join the Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, where Ronaldo currently plays. However, the young Argentine has chosen to focus on his career in Europe, with Manchester United reportedly open to facilitating his transfer.
Garnacho's exclusion from United's pre-season plans suggests he is no longer part of the club's immediate future. Several European clubs have expressed interest in the talented winger, including Chelsea, who are rumored to be considering a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku. Napoli is also reportedly keen, with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis stating that Garnacho's potential is not being fully realized at Old Trafford.
United are reportedly seeking around £70 million for Garnacho, though his uncertain role in the squad under manager Ruben Amorim could complicate negotiations. His relatively manageable salary, however, makes him a more feasible transfer option compared to other out-of-favor United stars like Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Antony.
Meanwhile, Rashford is reportedly eyeing a move to Barcelona, while Antony has drawn interest following a successful loan spell at Real Betis. Sancho, on the other hand, has attracted attention from Juventus after a proposed permanent move to Chelsea fell through due to wage-related issues.
Garnacho's decision to turn down Al Nassr highlights his ambition to continue developing in Europe, even as the allure of playing alongside Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia remains a tempting prospect.
