The SAYE project, launched on 07th/07/2025, aims to improve skills, expand market access, offer inclusive financing, diversify value chains, embrace tech solutions, and adopt climate-smart agriculture. This ambitious project runs from 2023 to 2029.
Hon. Fred Kyakulaga Bwiino, the Minister of State for Agriculture, Animal industry and fisheries, led the commissioning of this project. He emphasized the government's commitment to helping youths find employment through farming, praising the positive impact the SAYE project is already making in the region.
William Matovu, Country Director of Heifer International Uganda, shared that the project has already assisted many youths, with over 50,000 joining the program and 27,700 finding work in farming activities such as poultry, growing vegetables, and dairy farming.
