Manchester United could be in line for a significant financial boost as Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli has reportedly submitted a £60m offer for Mason Greenwood. The Red Devils stand to receive £30m from the deal, thanks to a 50% sell-on clause agreed upon when Greenwood joined Marseille last summer.
Greenwood's future at Marseille appears uncertain, with reports suggesting disagreements with coaching staff and teammates have cast doubt on his continued presence at the French club. The 23-year-old, who left Manchester United last year, has attracted attention from Al-Ahli, with Spanish outlet Fichajes claiming the Saudi side has made a formal bid of €70m (£60m).
Meanwhile, Manchester United are making strides in their pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Red Devils are optimistic about finalizing the deal by Monday. "United wanted Mbeumo done by the start of pre-season, that remains the case," Bailey stated. "The footballing department has done their part, and now the finances are moving."
Bailey also noted that Mbeumo and his representatives are eager to resolve the transfer before pre-season begins, avoiding a return to Brentford. "They don’t want that, and I’m not convinced Brentford do either," he added.
In other transfer news, Manchester United have already secured the signing of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m. The club is also reportedly considering a move for former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, as they aim to bolster their attacking options after a lackluster scoring record last season.
With potential deals for Greenwood and Mbeumo on the horizon, Manchester United could significantly strengthen their squad and finances as they prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign.
