Alessandro Croce, a 30-year-old man from Teramo, Italy, tragically passed away in his Edinburgh hotel room just hours before he was set to attend an Oasis concert last week.
Mr. Croce collapsed at his accommodation on August 9th while reportedly getting ready for the band's performance at Murrayfield Stadium. His friends immediately attempted resuscitation while awaiting emergency services.
Paramedics also intervened upon arrival, but all efforts to save him proved unsuccessful. Initial reports from Sky News Italia suggest Mr. Croce suffered a cardiac arrest.
Tributes quickly poured in for the dentist and amateur basketball player. Gianguido D'Alberto, the Mayor of Teramo, stated on social media: "Our city is profoundly shaken by the passing of Alessandro Croce," extending condolences to his parents and sister, Giulia.
Basketball Teramo, his local club, expressed devastation over the "sudden and premature" loss. In a social media statement, they described Alessandro as "not only a pillar of our team, but an integral part of our history and of the heart of our association," adding that his "memory and smile will remain forever alive in every match."
