Uganda Cranes Secure Victory Bonus After Defeating Botswana

The Uganda Cranes have been awarded a substantial “winning bonus” following their 1-0 victory over Botswana. FUFA President Moses Magogo, representing Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, handed over a UGX 50 million bonus to the Cranes squad, led by Captain Khalid Aucho and Vice Captain Ismail Watenga on Saturday.

Reward and Promises

This reward comes after Speaker Among had earlier promised the team additional bonuses for victories against Botswana and Algeria. On Tuesday, before the Botswana game, she delivered UGX 50 million to the squad, promising more money for each win in their next two qualifiers. “When you win the first game, you’ll get a winning bonus, and when you win the second game you’ll get another winning bonus,” she stated.

Victory and Fulfillment

Uganda edged Botswana 1-0 at Namboole. Speaker Anita Among fulfilled part of her pledge, congratulating the players on their precious win through a message delivered by the FUFA President. She commended their fighting spirit and resilience, which led to a result that made Ugandans proud.

Focus on Algeria

The national team now shifts its focus to their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Algeria, scheduled for Monday, June 10th. If the Cranes secure another victory, they will be rewarded with an additional UGX 50 million bonus, as promised by the Speaker. The players are eager to maintain their winning momentum and secure another crucial victory against Algeria.

In conclusion , the Uganda Cranes’ recent victory and the subsequent bonus highlight the team’s hard work and the support they receive. With a promising match against Algeria ahead, the Cranes are motivated to continue their winning streak and make their nation proud.
