University Lecturer Wanted for Rape of Minor: Police on the Hunt for HIV-Positive Dr. Lawrence

The University of Kyambogo is in shock as police are on the hunt for one of their own, Dr. Eron Lawrence, a professor and head of disability education. He is accused of raping a minor while knowing that he is HIV positive. This disturbing case has caused outrage and raised concerns about the safety of students at the university.

The Accused: Dr. Eron Lawrence, Head of Disability Education

Dr. Eron Lawrence, age 56, is a well-respected professor at the University of Kyambogo. He is also the head of the ‘All We See Is Possible’ Student Education Project, which focuses on empowering students with disabilities. However, his reputation has been tarnished as he is now the prime suspect in a rape case.

The Alleged Rape: Details and Timeline

According to the investigation, the victim, a 16-year-old disabled child, was raped during the day. The child has to wear glasses to see and is completely blind at night. It is alleged that Dr. Lawrence took advantage of the victim’s disability and raped them.

The investigation also revealed that on October 12, 2023, Dr. Lawrence led a group of students with disabilities to a rally in Nairobi, Kenya. Upon his return to Uganda, he used his vehicle to transport the students back to their respective homes. However, things took a sinister turn when he allegedly raped the victim on the way.

Investigation and Fleeing of Dr. Lawrence

The victim reported the incident to their female teacher upon arriving at school. Dr. Lawrence was immediately arrested, but was later released due to his illness and need for medication. However, on December 13, 2023, the investigation revealed that he was guilty of the crime. Unfortunately, by then, he had already fled the country.

“The DNA samples that were recovered from the suspects car, a Toyota Wish, registration number UBA 349Z, matched with the samples found on the body of the victim.” Enanga said.

Police on the Hunt: Urging the Public for Help

Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, has urged the public and students at the University of Kyambogo to assist in the search for Dr. Lawrence. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to come forward and help bring him to justice.
