Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan reportedly got a major payday for his historical drama. Hitting theaters last year, Oppenheimer chronicles the life and career of American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. The film, which stars Cillian Murphy in the title role, was a major critical and commercial success, ultimately earning more than $958 million worldwide. The historical drama was also a major winner at the 2024 Oscars, taking home seven awards in total, including Best Picture and Best Director.
