The actor played Gale Cumulus in the Pixar movie, an air element for whom the water element Wade Ripple (Mamoudou Athie) works in Element City, a place where the elements air, earth, fire, and water are anthropomorphic beings. Although the $200 million movie had a weak opening weekend gross of $29.6 million that led some headlines to declare it a flop, it eventually earned $496.4 million worldwide, becoming the tenth highest-grossing movie of 2023.
