In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Natalie Portman explained how she brought powerhouse Padmé Amidala, who was Queen of Naboo, a Republic Senator, and eventually the wife of Jedi Anakin Skywalker, to the big screen in Star Wars’ prequel trilogy, but based on a final edit by George Lucas, he had a few tweaks he still wanted. Padmé first appeared in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as a teenage Queen, which meant that she needed to have a particular air about her. To master this, Natalie Portman had very specific inspiration.
