The highly anticipated Kampala Fight Night, set to take place at Supremacy Lounge, has been officially rescheduled to September 4, 2025, following a contentious sanctioning dispute. Originally planned for August 27, the postponement comes after the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) raised concerns about incomplete fight card submissions and unsigned boxer contracts, which are mandatory for official approval.
The controversy escalated when leaked letters from the UBF circulated online, casting doubt on the event’s legitimacy. Promoter Isaac Zebra Jr. strongly criticized the federation’s actions, calling the public release of the correspondence “sabotage” and “unprofessional.” He argued that the federation’s approach undermined the event’s credibility before direct communication could occur.
Event matchmaker Mutyaba Collin initially reassured fans that the show would proceed as scheduled. However, in a recent update, he confirmed the new date, stating the delay would allow organizers to “properly inform the public” and ensure a seamless production. A press conference is now set for August 27 at the same venue to amplify anticipation for what is expected to be one of Uganda’s most significant boxing nights this year.
The postponement aims to redirect focus toward the action inside the ring, with fans eagerly awaiting the high-stakes matchups. Organizers emphasized their commitment to resolving the dispute and delivering a polished event that reflects the growing momentum of Ugandan boxing.
