The 13th edition of the Bakiga Nation event, held at the Pilsner cultural experience, was a blend of music, dance, art, and culinary delights. This cultural event was a magnificent showcase of the rich heritage of the Kigezi region.

Gospel Music Takeover by Peace Mbabazi

What other way to start her performance than with Rukundo Egemeho at Rukundo Egemeho? Peace Mbabazi captivated the audience with a gospel music takeover. Her powerful renditions of “Ninsiima Mukama Yesu,” “Bwayima Yobusasi,” and “Osiime” left the crowd in awe. She wrapped up her performance with a special duet with her husband, Jack Asaba, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.

Sheebah Karungi’s Electrifying Performance

Wearing a stunning pink attire, Sheebah Karungi elevated the scene and took the crowd into a frenzy. Her hour-long performance, backed by the energetic Rita Dancehall, was a highlight of the event. She delivered some of her best hits, including “Wakikuba” and “Nakyuka,” keeping the audience dancing and singing along.

The Bakiga Nation event is known for uniting people from the Kigezi region to celebrate their culture. This year’s event was no different, with Pilsner Lager Brand Manager Edgar Kihumuro emphasizing the brand’s commitment to uniting consumers and safeguarding their cultural heritage. The event featured music and dance, art displays, and a variety of food and drinks, offering a full cultural experience.

 

Unique Performances Highlight the Event

The event was also highlighted by a mesmerizing percussion performance by Qwela Band. Their unique fusion of modern and traditional music captivated the audience. At every opportunity, attendees joined in the Ekizino performances, enjoying the rhythm and energy of the traditional dance. Additional entertainment was provided by Moses Snazz, Bowman Aremwaki, and a DJ Bugy takeover, ensuring there was never a dull moment.
