A new excerpt from John Jackson Miller’s novel “Star Wars: The Living Force,” an upcoming prequel to Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, shows the Jedi in retreat. The Living Force follows the members of the Jedi Council on a mission to an ancient Jedi outpost on the planet Kwenn that had been established during the High Republic era. The Council decided to visit Kwenn because of a challenge from Qui-Gon Jinn, and to show the Senate that they could still act independently. While it acts as a prequel to The Phantom Menace, The Living Force could have a huge effect on every Star Wars movie.
