One of the producers of the Star Wars prequel trilogies recently confirmed the real reason Obi-Wan Kenobi left Anakin Skywalker for dead on Mustafar in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. After Order 66 and Anakin’s fall to the dark side and transformation into Darth Vader, Obi-Wan confronted him on the volcanic planet Mustafar, and the two had their fateful duel. Though Anakin was the Chosen One, and much more powerful in the Force, Obi-Wan was able to defeat him. After a heartfelt speech, though, Obi-Wan left without killing Anakin, a decision that made many fans wonder why he wouldn’t destroy the new Sith Lord.
