AJ, Fury, Usyk Rematch, Come On: Daniel Dubois Eager to Return to the Top Level

AJ, Fury, Usyk Rematch, Come On: Daniel Dubois Eager to Return to the Top Level

After a stunning tenth-round knockout win over Jarrell Miller, former WBA ‘Regular’ heavyweight titlist Daniel Dubois is not at all interested in a rebuilding tour. The 26-year-old Londoner is eager for a return to the top level and is looking for a rematch with WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titlist Oleksandr Usyk, as well as Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

Dubois (20-2, 19KOs) had four straight knockout wins after a November 2020 knockout defeat to countryman Joe Joyce, which included a June 2022 knockout victory over then-unbeaten WBA secondary titlist Trevor Bryan. He fell short in his August 26 title fight with Usyk (21-0, 14KOs) in Wroclaw, Poland, where his team and plenty of viewers felt he was cheated out of a fifth-round knockdown.

Miller (26-1-1, 22KOs) proved to be the perfect opponent for Dubois’ first fight after the Usyk defeat. The former WBA ‘Regular’ heavyweight titlist admits he had a lot of things going on in his head that he needed to sort out before the fight on December 23 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“I had a lot of things going on in my life and in my head that I needed to sort out,” Dubois admitted. “[Saturday] was part of that redemption and recovery process. We still had to win and that’s what we did. I’ve got a lot of maturing to do. I’m still learning in there. We were scrapping but we came through.”

The thrill of his tenth-round knockout win over Miller has the former WBA ‘Regular’ heavyweight titlist eager to return to the top level. Dubois is now calling for a rematch with Usyk, as well as fights with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

“AJ, all the big boys. AJ, Fury, Usyk, rematch. Come on,” Dubois insisted after his December 23 win. The 26-year-old fighter believes he’s ready for the absolute best, and is determined to prove it in the ring.

Daniel Dubois is ready to take on the absolute best in the heavyweight division, including Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. His tenth-round knockout win over Jarrell Miller has the former WBA ‘Regular’ heavyweight titlist eager to return to the top level and prove he’s ready for a rematch with Usyk. It’s time to see who the true heavyweight champion is.
