On the heels of the reboot’s announcement, David Leitch is already teasing the potential for a new Kung Fu franchise. Having launched with the David Carradine-led martial arts Western drama show in the ’70s, it continued with a made-for-TV movie starring Carradine, a sequel pilot led by Brandon Lee and a third show starring Carradine as the grandson of his original character. Kung Fu was rebooted for The CW with a Chinese-American female lead, which ran for three well-received seasons before being cancelled, only for a movie reboot to be announced with Leitch directing and Donnie Yen starring.
