Tiktoker Gloria’s Final Journey Home
The Ugandan TikTok community is mourning the loss of one of its beloved members, Gloria, known online as “BabyGloria07.” Gloria passed away earlier this week in Dubai after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was surrounded by friends from the Ugandan community in Dubai when she took her last breath. Her body was returned to Uganda on June 8th, on a Uganda Airlines flight.
A Courageous Fight Against Cancer
Gloria’s family revealed that she fought valiantly against her illness. Despite the severity of her condition, she remained optimistic and determined. Her sister, Hanifah Kyomugisha, shared that Gloria kept her illness a secret initially, not wanting to worry her family. Gloria’s dream was to build a house for her mother, a goal she held onto despite her health challenges.
The family expressed deep gratitude to the Ugandan community in the UAE, as well as Tiktokers and well-wishers from Uganda, who provided unwavering support. Many contributed funds to cover her medical bills and other necessities. Among those who helped were Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko and Speaker of Parliament Anitah Annet Among.
Gloria’s passing is a significant loss for her family and the broader community. Her strength and positivity throughout her illness touched many lives, and her legacy will continue to inspire.
